Off the Wagon is a renowned boulder problem located in the beautiful valley called Val Bavona, Ticino, Switzerland. This formidable line gained prominence through its unique start, utilizing a wooden wagon to access the initial holds beneath a steep overhang. The problem is divided into two variations:
Stand Start (8B+/V14): First ascended by Nalle Hukkataival on November 21, 2012, this version begins from the wagon and involves powerful, dynamic moves on small crimps. The climb features the magical " Rose-move" campus.
Sit Start (8C+/V16): Also known as "Off the Wagon Low," this more challenging variant was first completed by Shawn Raboutou on November 27, 2018. It adds several strenuous moves before linking into the stand start, increasing the overall difficulty.
Off the Wagon has attracted numerous elite climbers and is celebrated for its demanding sequences and historical significance in the bouldering community.
